Teen Sex and Hot Peppers

Daily Life, Rants

I’ve noticed I am not getting any feedback. Of course, despite the counter getting hits, I have no “confirmed” readers. I am motivated to write this and decry this travesty and that injustice and go into length about the inequity of my own daily life in this bit bucket. If you want to comment, feel free. Or just lurk. That’s cool too.

So we live in a free society, and I’ve found myself out reading other blogs for ideas. Mostly to get design ideas and look for cool gadgets, but also to see what people are blogging about. Here’s a couple links to commentary blogs and link here for a timely article on Libertinism and Teen Sex. [Scroll down for the article.]

The topic of teen sex is a frustrating one. Especially when you have to live with it. I’ve taken to turning up music or nature sounds, like the ocean or rainstorms, when I go to bed. I then don’t hear the wandering sex zombies in the halls of my castle. [OK. A man's home is his castle. I rent. This isn't my castle. Even if I had a mortgage, until I am living alone I don't feel like it is my castle. But, that's beside the point.] You just ignore what you can’t control, if somewhat begrudgingly, and move on with your life, right? So ignore the naked sex zombies [did I mention that?], have a hot pepper and sit up on the roof at 2 AM and watch Mars for a bit. Then run the gauntlet, hurdle the attack kitten Steve, and dodge the stray condoms like Kobe at training camp and return to my “Daredevil-esque” isolation booth and grab a couple hours of unsatisfying sleep before I head back into the office.

I won’t go into my sad romantic life. Let’s just say that I didn’t spend a lot of time in the last century on romance. I have 97 years left in this century, so I don’t feel pressured. With all the Internet porn I get in email spam, I’m probably ok. Plus, tonight is a guys night out. One of the few days out of the year that I can get together with a friend or two in the Quad Cities. Most of the rest of the year my co-workers are occupied with their own outside interests, families and chores. Well, I’m self-sufficient enough.

Well, I’m just kidding around here and blowing off steam. I don’t want anyone that I deal with as a professional during my 9 to 5 to read through here and think I’m wacky. Just finding a creative outlet. Remember that.

So I found these two sites that were worth reading. Some interesting observations and social commentary: JunkYardBlog and Thought Mesh. Plus, as I read my book on memes, I am finding many references to memes in webblogs. I’ll share more links as I come across them. I expect I could blog a little about my thoughts on the concept of social memes that spread, taking even physical form. I’m not sure I buy it, but it’s a novel concept. = Peas out =
