I am back from my trip to Michigan. I got back from Las Vegas at about 1 am on Friday, and needed a litttle sleep. We started our drive up to Petoskey at 10:30 am, me and the boys and the dogs. We didn’t arrive until about 8:00 eastern time, but we ate dinner and watched the olympic ceremonies with family. On Saturday, we helped my sister prepare for her wedding reception, and people started to show up around 4 pm. It was a lot of fun, and I have lots of pictures to process and put up later this week on Flickr!

I started off Sunday walking the dogs down the front hill at my folks’ house. It was a good, long walk. Then, Sterling and I walked them in the woods for an hour, and got lost. Around noon, we drove up to Kathy’s house in Cross Village, Michigan. I walked down to the local beach with the dogs, and they were happy to go, but I realized they had been very overworked this weekend when Ellie started limping.

We finished off the afternoon at the Sturgeon Bay beach. Tanner swam and swam and swam. Kathy took a bunch of pictures with my camera, while I laid in the sand with Ellie. After dinner at the Crow’s Nest, we drove back to my parents’ house, and soon after that we were in bed.

The dogs didn’t even want to get up this morning. The first night they woke me up several times, because they were excited (and there were other dogs in the house). Last night, they slept solidly through the night. We packed up and helped the dogs into the truck, and left at 8:30 am. (The only thing we forgot was my toothbrush and razor.) The drive back wasn’t too bad – Jarrett drove the whole way. We got home a little before 4 pm. It took almost two tanks of gas, each way, and 8 hours.

I bought pizza for dinner, and watched some old Star Trek: TNG episodes on TV. We’re all tired, I think the dogs will join me and we’ll turn in early. Time to go back to work tomorrow, after being away from the office for a week! Here’s a couple preview pictures….
